About the Teacher

My name is Jessie Robinette and I am very excited to be your child’s 2nd grade teacher!  I am a graduate of Young Harris College. Additionally, I received my master’s degree and gifted endorsement from The University of Georgia. I grew up in Madison, GA, but currently live in the Athens area.   

Our Time in 2nd Grade Together:
High quality education can dramatically impact a child’s future success in school and beyond. I take this
responsibility seriously. Our time together in 2nd grade will prepare your child for academic success in
elementary school and beyond. In short, this is a very important year for your child.

During our time together, your student will participate in a multitude of daily enriching learning
opportunities. Along with a Wednesday Folder, your child will also bring home a Daily Folder. This folder is
to stay inside your child's backpack and will be our way of communicating daily.  While homework is optional
I will be sending it home each week if you would like your child to have additional skilled practice.

We will have a snack time during the day. Your student is welcome to bring in a healthy snack. I also encourage students to bring in a water bottle with their name on it if they'd like.  

My Beliefs:
  • Enthusiasm is contagious.
  • A positive classroom climate fosters respect, participation, dignity, and trust.
  • Children have individual needs and learning styles that must be respected.
